Judgment
Many of those who lie dead in the ground will rise from death. Some of them will be given eternal life, and others will receive nothing but eternal shame and disgrace. ~ Daniel 12:2 (CEV)
The day is coming when God, through Christ Jesus, will judge everyone’s secret life. ~ Romans 2:16b (NLT)
God, it's kind of scary to think that you are judging my secrets. I have no hope apart from your grace and mercy. It's a good thing that Christ who is involved in judging is also the one who poured out grace and mercy on the cross. He established the resurrected life and I'm going to follow him that direction. Forgive me for letting my mind wander at times. You know exactly who I am. I am confident of your fairness and mercy. Amen.
*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS
The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2011 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul. The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
