Good teacher
I am the Lord your God,
who teaches you what is good for you
and leads you along the paths you should follow. ~ Isaiah 48:17b (NLT)
... The Lord will give you the understanding necessary to deal with these matters. ~ 2 Timothy 2:7b (ABP)
KEY IDEA:
The Lord is our teacher.
PRAYER:
Lord, you are so awesome! You don't just save us from the grip of evil but you also give us good teaching that leads us in a healthy direction. Whether I listen and pay enough attention is another matter. I don't. I'm too content with my own limited understanding. Help me to better understand your grace toward us inattentive people so that we can live grace defined lives. I'm going to grow in understanding. Amen.
*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS
The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2011 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul. The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
