Honor God
Saul said to David, “Go, and may the Lord be with you.” ~ 1 Samuel 17:37b (NCV)
Whatever it is that you do, do it in such a way that it brings honor to God. ~ 1 Corinthians 10:31b (ABP)
KEY IDEA:
Honor God through all your actions, attitudes, and thoughts.
PRAYER:
Lord, I'm thankful that you are with us. Now, please, help me to express my confidence in your presence. I want to live my life in such a way that you are honored through every breath I take and every move I make. Help me to stay focused on that purpose. Amen.
*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS
The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2011 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul. The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
