Look to Jesus for wisdom

This also comes from the Lord of heavenly forces, who gives wondrous counsel and increases wisdom. ~ Isaiah 28:29 (CEB)

Jesus replied, "You surely know that the Scriptures say, 'The stone that the builders tossed aside is now the most important stone of all...'" ~ Matthew 21:42 (CEV)

KEY IDEA:
Even though Jesus has been rejected, look to him for the kind of wisdom that changes everything.
PRAYER:
Gracious God, thank you for sending Jesus to reveal your wisdom to us. I want to acknowledge that though I trust him a lot there are still things about his wisdom which seem too hard. In that sense I'm like the builders who have rejected the cornerstone. Renew my heart and perspective so that I can fully embrace the wisdom of my Savior. I'm going to go deeper. Amen.

*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2011 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
