KEY IDEA:
Sink your roots deeply into Christ.
PRAYER:
Lord, you are so deep. And I'm so content in my shallowness. Help me to plant my personal roots deeply into you and your ways. I'm eager to move beyond shallowness. I pray in the deep name of Christ Jesus. Amen.

God is solid, so stop doing the bad stuff and do what he says. You'll live better that way.

God, your instructions are all that we need to live well. But I'm as guilty as everyone else of ignoring your commands. The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul. The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
