KEY IDEA:
Trust the Lord to get you through the crises.
PRAYER:
Lord, I am grateful for your power. There is nothing that surprises you. There is no crisis that can mess up your plans. Yet, I worry about bad things happening -- political unrest, earthquakes, sea rise, storms... It's not that these things don't happen but that you are fully aware and you make yourself present with your people to get them through it all. Help me to trust you more and to put into practice what I know in my head. Help me to take risks and to even go into dangerous places. I'm going to be a calm and trusting follower of Jesus. Amen.
I will tell them, “Come back, and I will cure you of your unfaithfulness.”

Return to God and he will make things better because he is our Father and we are his children.
PRAYER:
Jesus, you came to us as a child to give us your Father's inheritance. Most days I can't even open my hand or see in a neighbor's eyes someone you also love and want to save. With open hands and an open heart, help me share your currency of love with another person today. Amen. (Daily Texts, Mount Carmel Ministries edition)
He is God. Let him do whatever he thinks best. ~ 1 Samuel 3:18 (MSG)

KEY IDEA:
Trust God and his agenda.
PRAYER:
Big God, thank you for your great plans. I confess that I talk big too often -- as though I know what is going on and how to fix everything in the world. Fill me with the humility needed to embrace your agenda and the faith required to live it. I'm eager to see your will be done -- even when it has nothing to do with my personal agenda. I love you, Jesus! Amen.
You are our God— please let us come home. ~ Jeremiah 31:18 (CEV)

*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS
The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul. The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
