God is good to all.
PRAYER
Compassionate God, you're good to all -- even those who dislike you. It's your nature. Show me how to extend goodness even to the people who hurt me. Draw me to yourself so that this kind of goodness rubs off on me. I'm going to grow in compassion. Amen.

God sends those he saves.
PRAYER
Merciful God, you've saved us and now you are sending us to reach out to the world with your good news. Forgive my reluctance to share how you've been at work in my life and the world. Give me wisdom so that I can recognize the opportunities and know exactly what to say to whom. I want everyone to experience the good news of Jesus. Amen.

PROTECTION

who gives me strength
and protects me like a fortress
when I am in trouble.

There is no end to the trouble we are experiencing, but we aren’t crushed. Yes, it can be confusing but it doesn't drive us to despair or desperation.

Even though troubles come we are not crushed by them because God carries us through them.
PRAYER
Savior God, I am grateful for your protection. I admit that I get annoyed that I even need your protection. It seems to me that I should have a trouble-free life -- or at least that I should be able to take care of myself. Help me to abandon such silly ideas and to focus my energy on trusting you through both the good and bad times. I'm planning to grow in gratitude for your ongoing protection. Amen.
