PSALM 85:9-10 (ABP)
God’s salvation is at hand for those who live to honor him. With his salvation comes his glory -- living here with us in our land. Imagine what it will be like -- love and loyalty in tight alliance -- peace and justice embracing like old friends.
ROMANS 5:1 (ABP)
Faith has resulted in a restored and right relationship with God, through our Master Jesus Christ. Indeed, we are at peace!
SUMMARY SENTENCE
God is offering his peace for all who will accept it.
PRAYER
Thank you, God, for the peace that is ours through the faithfulness of Christ. Give me the faith to fully embrace him and his peace. Restore the hope I've lost because of the violent words and actions that are so prominent on the world stage. I need to refocus on what you've done and what you will do as relationships are restored through you. Amen.
THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your Name; your Kingdom come; your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.

GOD'S GOODNESS
PSALM 145:9 (CEB)
The LORD is good to everyone and everything;
God’s compassion extends to all his handiwork!
MATTHEW 5:45 (CEV)
Your Father in heaven... makes the sun rise on both good and bad people. And he sends rain for the ones who do right and for the ones who do wrong.
SUMMARY SENTENCE
God is good to all.
PRAYER
Compassionate God, you're good to all -- even those who dislike you. It's your nature. Show me how to extend goodness even to the people who hurt me. Draw me to yourself so that this kind of goodness rubs off on me. I'm going to grow in compassion. Amen.

SENT
ISAIAH 66:19 (MSG)
I’ll send the survivors of judgment all over the world: Spain and Africa, Turkey and Greece, and the far-off islands that have never heard of me, who know nothing of what I’ve done nor who I am. I’ll send them out as missionaries to preach my glory among the nations.
MARK 16:15 (CEV)
Then Jesus told them: Go and preach the good news to everyone in the world.
SUMMARY SENTENCE
God sends those he saves.
PRAYER
Merciful God, you've saved us and now you are sending us to reach out to the world with your good news. Forgive my reluctance to share how you've been at work in my life and the world. Give me wisdom so that I can recognize the opportunities and know exactly what to say to whom. I want everyone to experience the good news of Jesus. Amen.

THE LIVING GOD
HABAKKUK 3:19 (ABP)
GOD is the source of my stability and strength.
1 TIMOTHY 4:10 (ABP)
All our work and effort are driven by this -- our hope firmly fixed on the living God -- the Savior of all people, as realized by those who believe in him.
SUMMARY SENTENCE
My hope in the living God drives all that I attempt and do.
PRAYER
Almighty Father, you provide my strength on the darkest of days. When I fall, you scoop me up into your loving embrace, brush me off, and place me back on my feet. Thank you for tenderly loving me and claiming me as yours. May I always proclaim your goodness as I serve others in your name. Amen. (Daily Texts, Ground Up Grace edition)

*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS
The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.
The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
