PRAYER
God, I acknowledge that everything begins and ends with you. Yet, like Adam and Eve, I strive toward autonomy and try to live apart from you and your influence. I know that it doesn't make sense but I do it anyway. Help me to pull closer to you and to receive what I need from you. Thank you for the full life that you have for me through Christ Jesus. I'm going to receive him, his agenda, and his healing, Amen.

GOD'S INITATIVE
1 SAMUEL 12:22 (MSG)
GOD, simply because of who he is, is not going to walk off and leave his people. GOD took delight in making you into his very own people.
EPHESIANS 2:8 (NLT)
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.
SUMMARY SENTENCE
It's solely God's initiative that sets us up to trust him.
PRAYER
Generous God, it's all about your grace from beginning to end. I admit that I'm eager to take credit for the changes in my life -- until I think about what I'm doing. Keep me aware and awake -- not just so that I'm giving credit where credit is due but also so that my trust in you matures. I'm going to delight in your delight. Amen.

I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, will give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation that makes God known to you.

If we're going to make God known we need to first know him, as he reveals himself.
PRAYER
Thank you, God All-Powerful, for revealing yourself. Otherwise, all our seeking would be in vain. Forgive us for thinking and acting as though we can find you or even become God experts through our efforts. Please continue through your Spirit to give me wisdom and appropriate insight so that I can better know you and make you known. What I know so far is that no one is as loving and faithful as you are. GOD AT WORK BEYOND

ACTS 14:27 (ABP)
Once Paul and Barnabas arrived in Antioch, they called the church together and reported on their mission trip. They told the believers about all that God had done through them and how he had opened the door for the Gentiles to put their faith in Christ, too.
SUMMARY SENTENCE
When God is at work the circle of faith seems to be forever expanding -- even beyond our expectations.
PRAYER
Amazing God, we could spend our entire lives reciting in detail all that we've seen you do. I confess, though, that I don't even try. I feel overwhelmed by the task. So please give me a vision for telling at least a few people. Arrange some times and places for us to meet. I'm anticipating interaction with some open people. I've got a lot to say about you. Amen.
