Forward looking

You have done wonderful things. You had planned them long ago. ~ Isaiah 25:1 (NIRV)

What’s more, the Scriptures looked forward to this time when God would declare the Gentiles to be righteous because of their faith. God proclaimed this good news to Abraham long ago when he said, “All nations will be blessed through you.” ~ Galatians 3:8 (NLT)

You are the God of the big plan. You've been working it all out for ages and by faith I get to be a part of it. Please be patient with me when I lose sight of the big picture. Remind me so that my faith grows even stronger. I want to be able to confidently tell others of the blessing. Amen.

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
