Kind and merciful God, thank you for caring. Even though our care for the poor is currently but a weak mirror of yours, we want to do as you do. Make it so in us. Transform us into people who remember and bless the poor. We desire to be kind and merciful, too. But we know that it can only happen through an act of God. Amen.
