Lord, you have given to us so much for which we can be thankful. I confess, though, that I limit my thanksgiving to formal occasions, and even then, only for the things which I enjoy. Lord, I purpose to live a life filled with gratitude -- a gratitude which thrives through all circumstances -- including the disappointments, the pain, and the sorrows. You're wonderfully working it all out even when things aren't going so well. But there is no way I can do this on my own. I need your gentle reminders and a sense for gratitude that can only come as I'm empowered by your Holy Spirit. Amen.
