Lord Jesus, you have your own ways of getting things done. I confess that I create trouble for myself and others when I try to do your work in ways that are inconsistent with your ways. I'm too eager to embrace power and control as a means of accomplishing great things. But you just want me to trust you and to turn away from things that are wrong. That sounds simple enough. But it's not easy for those of us who are control freaks. I need to be empowered by your Holy Spirit -- otherwise, I don't see how this will work. I'm going to put away my weapons and trust you today. Amen.
