Happy!

The Lord is my strength and shield.
I trusted him with all my heart.
He helped me, so I am happy.
I sing songs of praise to him.

~ Psalm 28:7 (ERV)

Mary said, “With all my heart I glorify the Lord! In the depths of who I am I rejoice in God my savior. ~ Luke 1:46-47 (CEB)

With all my heart I glorify the Lord! You, Lord, are the one and only worthy of my total trust. The very thought of your salvation -- starting with all the Old Testament stories and moving to the high point at the cross and the resurrection -- and even in the ways you have protected me recently -- they all work together to stir my heart. You make me glad. Admittedly, I get distracted sometimes and forget much of what you've done. Help me remember so that I can sing your praises with all my heart. Amen.

*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
