Wisdom

Those skilled in wisdom will shine like the sky. Those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever and always. ~ Daniel 12:3 (CEB)

 Remember your leaders who spoke God’s word to you. Imitate their faith as you consider the way their lives turned out. ~ Hebrews 13:7 (CEB)

Lord, you always seem to send wise leaders into the world. You never fail to give wisdom. Of course, we acknowledge that we do not always respond to wisdom. There are other less deserving voices who get our attention. That is not good. Forgive us. Forgive me. Christ have mercy. Please, transform me into a wise person. I want to be skilled in wisdom. I want to be a leader rooted in God's word. And I want to start right now. Amen.

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
