Peace mission

Lord, don’t continue to be angry with us! Don’t remember our sins forever! Please, look at us! We are all your people. ~ Isaiah 64:9 (ERV)

When Christ came, he announced the good news of peace to you who were far away from God and to those who were near. ~ Ephesians 2:17 (CEB)

Lord, you have made peace with all people. Thank you for forgiving me and my sins. They are too many to even accurately record. With your help I can turn from them and live in peace with you and others. I can even become an agent of the good news of peace. Together, Lord, we can spread the good news of peace to those who are far, near, and in between. Thank you, for including me in your peace mission. Amen.

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
