Generous God, you give us what we do not deserve. And that gift then makes us pleasing to you. This is a very confusing mystery. I am used to proving that I'm good or competent. I do not succeed at being very good or competent but that is what I try to do. Maybe, then, my lack of success only proves your point -- that I need your grace if I'm going to have a relationship with you. I'm going to change the way that I look at things and start to enjoy the mystery of your grace. Thank you. Amen.
