Giddy

The Lord’s instruction is right; it makes our hearts glad. ~ Psalm 19:8 (CEV)

Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. ~ Colossians 3:16 (NLT)

Lord, your message about Christ changes everything. As your words of wisdom fill my life, they bubble up and make me giddy with delight -- even as they wash away the dirt and stains. It feels strange that something as painful as change also makes me glad. But that's what your wise instruction does. Help me to share your wisdom today, so that others will also be able to move forward with glad hearts. Amen.

Challenging Word

  • Giddy -- When you are giddy you are so happy that you can't contain yourself. That is, perhaps you can't stop talking or laughing or giggling.

*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
