Lord, I thank you for answering me.
You have saved me. ~ Psalm 118:21 (NCV)
Yes, whoever continues to ask will receive. Whoever continues to look will find. And whoever continues to knock will have the door opened for them. ~ Matthew 7:8 (ERV)
Lord Jesus, our Savior, I feel like I'm always asking for something from you. And maybe that's not so bad. Even when I'm asking for the wrong kinds of things -- and getting "no" for an answer -- at least I'm asking. And that is good. Through your Word help me to develop a sense for what it is that I should be asking of you. Grant me wisdom and an intuitive sense for you agenda. Thank you for listening -- and answering. Amen.
Challenging Word
- intuitive -- something that one realizes using a combination of perception, emotion, reason, and personal history. Something that you realize with intuitive sense does not have to be thought out. It is instantly obvious to you. If we have a good relationship with God, we internalize his Word and over time we develop an intuitive sense for what matters to him.
*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS
The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul. The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
