“I will send you the Helper from the Father. The Helper is the Spirit of truth who comes from the Father. When he comes, he will tell about me. And you will tell people about me, too. ~ John 15:26–27a (ERV)
One of the great things about you, dear Heavenly Father, is that you support those you send. When you give us an assignment it's not like we have to prove ourselves to you. For you are the one who is doing all the heavy lifting. You give us words to say and encourage us with the presence of your Holy Spirit. It's as though you're doing all the work -- and taking us along with you so that we can share in your glory. That's exactly what is happening. So, I am from here forward going to say "yes" to you without hesitation. I know that you won't leave me hanging. There is nothing to fear. Amen.Challenging Words
- doing all the heavy lifting -- idiom for doing all the hard work
- without hesitation -- to do something without stopping to consider everything involved in the task, to not worry, to continue forward
- leave me hanging -- to be abandoned without rescue or resources. If God asks us to do something he always provides the resources for the assignment. If he gives us a task, God also gives us what we need to do the task.
