Happiness

Lord, you are very generous. You reward us when we have faith in you. Unfortunately we have come to think of having faith as a one time event or experience. But you are really wanting us to courageously put our confidence in you every single day -- every single hour -- every single minute -- every single second -- and in every single situation. In your generosity grant us the desire and the courage to act like people who completely trust you. That is the kind of faith that not only makes you happy but also spills over and floods us with real happiness, too. That is a great reward. Thank you. Amen.

DAILY TEXTS
The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul. The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
