Invitation
Maundy Thursday
Comfort, comfort my people,”

Lord, you have extended an incredible and comforting invitation for people to return to you. Through the self-sacrifice of Jesus on the cross you opened the door. The table is set and I'm ready to spend the rest of my life partying with you. I am hereby canceling all other engagements and obligations. From this point on it's all about you and celebrating your kingdom. So, help me to share your incredible invitation with everyone in my life. Amen.

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul. The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
