Lord Jesus, my life is full of disappointment -- people who have let me down -- people who have said that they would be a friend -- but then they disappeared. And I confess that occasionally bitterness overtakes me because of the unfaithfulness of others. Save me from wallowing in that hurt. I know that you have been hurt, too. You were betrayed and murdered. Yet you came out on the other side -- victorious over pain and death. You know the way out and if I stick close to you you'll get me there, too. And you'll stick with me like bubblegum on a shoe. You will never be a disappointment and that is enough to go take on the world today. Amen.Challenging Word
