Heart-healthy
(The Lord said,) I wish their hearts would always respect me and that they would always obey my commands so that things would go well for them and their children forever! ~ Deuteronomy 5:29 (NCV)
Your hearts should be strengthened by God’s grace... ~ Hebrews 13:9 (NCV)
Gracious God, you are concerned about the well-being of our hearts. You want us to develop strong hearts. That is why you have given us your directions for life and filled us with your grace so that we can follow them. You have given us everything that we need. I confess, though, that sometimes I am so distracted by things I want, that I neglect what you have already given to me. Don't give up on me, please. Keep nudging me forward so that I can live a heart-healthy life. Amen.

*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS
The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul. The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
