Faithfulness and mercy

O mountains of Israel …see now, I am for you; I will turn to you, and you shall be tilled and sown. Trees will grow on you mountains of Israel and produce fruit for my people, because they will soon come home. I will take care of you by plowing your soil and planting crops on your fertile slopes. ~ Ezekiel 36:8-9 (CEV)

He helps his servant Israel and is always merciful to his people. The Lord made this promise to our ancestors, to Abraham and his family forever! ~ Luke 1:54–55 (CEV)
Lord, there is no end to your mercy and faithfulness. You look out for us in amazing ways. You keep your promises to us -- and give more than what you promised. Sometimes I am discouraged because of my circumstances. Help me to look up and see the bigger picture. Help me to look for and note the signs of your faithfulness and mercy. I'm going to start a list today. Amen.

*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
