Loyalty
Christ the King Sunday
With your great loyalty you led the people you rescued;
with your power you guided them to your sanctuary. ~ Exodus 15:13a (CEB)
But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior. ~ Philippians 3:20 (NLT)
Lord, you treat your people well. You have done so in the past and I believe that you will continue to do so. You lead us to safety. You provide a Savior. I'm so glad that I'm a citizen of your kingdom. That is how I think of myself. My allegiance, as weak as it is sometimes, is to you. And I am really looking forward to Jesus' return -- when he will bring heaven to earth. That is something to look forward to. Amen.
*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS
The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul. The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
