Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?” ~ Mark 4:38 (CEV)
Lord, you are the one to whom I turn when I need help. I admit that sometimes I worry that you don't really care. But then I'm awestruck when I see that you are not asleep on the job. You're just so calm. Sometimes I want you to panic with me. That would make me feel good. But you never seem to panic. And that's why I can turn to you in times of crisis. You are so steady, so consistent, and so strong. I'm resting in you. Amen.
