Righteousness

Justice will once again meet up with righteousness, and all whose heart is right will follow after. ~ Psalm 94:15 (CEB)

Happy are people who are hungry and thirsty for righteousness, because they will be fed until they are full. ~ Matthew 5:6 (CEB)
Great Judge:
THANKS: You feed us until we are full -- and then you give us more.
REGRETS: And you do this even when our hunger and thirst for righteousness and justice is pretty weak.  Actually, to be truthful, I am the one who is weak. I get excited about great worship experiences -- singing good music -- having amazing fellowship... But my passion for justice and doing right isn't there. Justice and righteousness aren't very flashy. So I hang back.
INTERCESSION:  I'm asking that you would not give up on me. Continue to nurture your justice in me.
PURPOSE:  I want my life to be characterized by a passion for what is right.
Amen.

*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
