Thankful living

Then they went home. The people were glad. Their hearts were full of joy. That’s because the Lord had done so many good things for his servant David and his people Israel.  ~ 1 Kings 8:66b (NIRV)

All of this is for your benefit. And as God’s grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and more glory. ~ 2 Corinthians 4:15 (NLT)
Lord:
THANKS: I'm so thankful for all the good things you have done for me and my family.
REGRETS: However, you have done way more than I remember. My memory is short.
INTERCESSION:  So, I am asking you to gently remind me every day and every minute of all the good things you're doing. Keep me from falling asleep and forgetting.
PURPOSE: I'm going to live a thankful life for you!
Amen.

*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
