Training

Correct me, Lord, but please be fair. Don’t correct me when you are angry. If you do, nothing will be left of me. ~ Jeremiah 10:24 (NIRV)

No training seems pleasant at the time. In fact, it seems painful. But later on it produces a harvest of godliness and peace. It does this for those who have been trained by it. ~ Hebrews 12:11 (NIRV)
Lord,

THANKS: Thank you for caring enough to train me. I'm not thrilled about how hard it is. But you are there with your steady and fair hand. Your correction comes from your love -- not your anger.

REGRETS: I'm sorry that I resist correction. I response with sarcasm. I become unpleasant when things are not going the way that I want them to go. And I give up and quit.

INTERCESSION: Please continue to train me even when I resist and have a bad attitude. Don't give up on me.

PURPOSE: I'm looking forward to a life overflowing with godliness and peace. And I'm expecting that by your grace, and with your training, I'll be able to reach the goal before I die.

Amen.
