Leading the way!

EASTER SUNDAY

Send out your light and your truth; let them guide me. Let them lead me to your holy mountain, to the place where you live. ~ Psalm 43:3 (NLT)

Thank you, Risen Savior, for leading the way out of death to enjoy life with you. I admit that sometimes I am slow to follow. But I really do want to follow. Help me to be more responsive. And when I start to worry about dying -- encourage me with your story. You really are saving us. Just as you live on and on -- so do I intend to live on and on -- for you. Amen.

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
