Praise the Lord
And when your people meet,
I will praise you, Lord. ~ Psalm 26:12b (CEV)
Day after day they met together in the temple. They broke bread together in different homes and shared their food happily and freely, while praising God. ~ Acts 2:46-47a (CEV)
Lord, it seems that whenever your people really get together in your name, we can't help but turn our attention toward praising you. You deserve all the honor you get. Now, I'd like to be more consistent so that I'm also praising you when I'm with other people. Please give me the boldness and freedom to talk about you in an honoring way all day long. Give me, too, the life that backs up what I say. I desire that the way I live would also be a praise offering to you. Amen.
*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS
The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul. The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
