Victory!

“The Lord will save me. So we will sing and play music on stringed instruments. We will sing all the days of our lives in the Lord’s temple.” ~ Isaiah 38:20 (NIRV)

But thank God for letting our Lord Jesus Christ give us the victory! ~ 1 Corinthians 15:57 (CEV)
God, thank you for saving us through what Jesus did. I am now a part of the winning team. I'm not always a good team player. But you still keep me on the team -- and you continue to save me every day. That makes me want to sing and play my ukulele for you. I'm going to live my life in your presence. Please help me to make it so. Amen.

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
