Healing power

You will know at last that I, the Lord, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Israel. ~ Isaiah 60:16 (NLT)

Holding her hand, Jesus said to her, “Talitha koum,” which means “Little girl, get up!” And the girl, who was twelve years old, immediately stood up and walked around! ~ Mark 5:41-42 (NLT)
You are the Mighty One --

THANKS: I'm so grateful that you use your power to help people who are in need. You have helped me a lot. You gave me the gift of salvation that Christ Jesus secured on the cross and through the resurrection. And I get to share in the honor that came to all people when the Son of God became a man. Furthermore, you have helped me through some very hard times. I'm grateful.

REGRETS: Even though I have seen how you use your powers sometimes I worry over how things will turn out. That kind of worry is doubt. I'm sorry that I doubt you sometimes.

INTERCESSION: I pray for all of those who are sick or who are struggling with addiction to drugs or alcohol. I know lots of people with such problems. They need healing.

PURPOSE: I'm going to talk freely of the way that you heal and redeem broken and hurting people -- including how you have healed me.

Amen.

*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
