Light and forgiveness
But you forgive.
So we can serve you with respect. ~ Psalm 130:4 (NIRV)
But if we live in the light, as God does, we share in life with each other. And the blood of his Son Jesus washes all our sins away. ~ 1 John 1:7 (CEV)
Gracious God:
THANKS: I'm so grateful for Jesus. Through him you have washed away our sins and given us a unique connection with both you and each other.
REGRETS: I'm sorry that I too often only think of how I'm forgiven but don't put much energy into living in the light or sharing life together as your followers.
INTERCESSION: Please give me a new mind so that I think differently.
PURPOSE: I want to serve you by sharing more freely. I want to live in a way that my life reflects your light out to other people.
Amen.
*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS
The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul. The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
