Promises
I will keep this solemn promise, and you will know that I am the Lord. ~ Ezekiel 16:62 (CEV)
You first heard about this hope when you believed the true message, which is the good news.
The good news is spreading all over the world with great success. It has spread in that same way among you, ever since the first day you learned the truth about God’s wonderful kindness... ~ Colossians 1:5-6 (CEV)
Lord, I have no doubt that you will keep your promises -- that you are reliable. My concerns are with my self-doubt. I'm not sure that I understand what you are promising and that I can realign my life to fit in with what you are doing. Give me ears to hear and wisdom to receive your promises. I'm confident that in your kindness you will continue to work with me until your good news message makes its way deep into my heart and mind. Amen.
*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS
The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul. The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
