Shine!

You can hear the victory celebration in the homes of those who live right. The Lord has shown his great power again! The Lord’s arm is raised in victory. The Lord has shown his great power again. ~ Psalm 118:15-16 (ERV)

Then the righteous will shine like the sun in their Father’s Kingdom. Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand! ~ Matthew 13:43 (NLT)
Powerful Lord,

THANKS:  You have accomplished the greatest of victories on our behalf. You have defeated the devil and the army of death. Thank you!

REGRETS: I'm sorry that I don't pay enough attention to your power and victory. I pretend that I'm some sort of super hero who can defeat evil with my own power. But that is a fantasy.

INTERCESSION: I pray that I'd be among the righteous who shine like the sun -- casting light so that many will turn to you. Might they pay attention and understand what you're doing and why your victories are so important.

PURPOSE: I'm going to shine for you today.

Amen.

*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
