Weakness and Power

Do not let your suffering people be disgraced. Let the poor and helpless praise you. ~ Psalm 74:21 (NCV)

My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness. ~ 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NLT)
Lord,

THANKS: Your power is awesome! You use it to help even the weakest and most helpless people. Thank you for caring so much about me.

REGRETS: I'm tired of being weak and of failing to live up to your standards. But my weakness gives me a fresh appreciation for your grace.

INTERCESSION: Fill my life with grace so that I can tell others about how you are changing me and how weakness can actually be an asset in the economy of your kingdom. Transform my mind and my words -- flood them with grace so that everything I think and say oozes with grace.

PURPOSE: Even though I'm a weakling I'm expecting that your grace will be enough for me to live for you.

Amen.

*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
