God's faithfulness.
But the Lord’s faithful love is from forever ago to forever from now
for those who honor him.
And God’s righteousness reaches to the grandchildren
of those who keep his covenant... ~ Psalm 103:17-18a (CEB)
Jesus doesn’t change—yesterday, today, tomorrow, he’s always totally himself. ~ Hebrews 13:8 (MSG)
Lord,
THANKS: I am grateful that you stay the same. You are totally reliable. You always keep your word -- no matter what happens. And you do even more for us than you promise. Your faithfulness and love just go on and on and on and on...
REGRETS: Even when I do understand how you operate, I am flaky because I do not take full advantage of your promises. You give great gifts but I leave them sitting around unused.
INTERCESSION: Please change me so that as the life of Christ is lived out through me I continually notice and recognize your faithfulness.
PURPOSE: I want to be faithful, too. But even more important to me is that my life would direct others to recognize your faithfulness.
Amen.
*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS
The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul. The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
