Life

God doesn’t need help from anyone. He gives life, breath, and everything else to all people. ~ Acts 17:25 (CEV)
God, there is nothing and no one existing beyond you. You put it all together. No spirit or power can control you. You don't even need our help. Although, sometimes I live like I'm doing you an incredible favor by serving you. I need a mindset adjustment. Thank you for being the God in charge and giving me life -- and new life in Christ -- and purpose for life. I'm going to live for you and only you. Amen.

DAILY TEXTS
The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul. The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
