Honor
The 13th Sunday after Pentecost
You are worshiped by everyone!
We all sing praises to you. ~ Psalm 66:4 (CEV)
…you will bring honor to the name of our Lord Jesus ~ 2 Thessalonians 1:12 (CEV)
Lord, it is good and right that we honor you -- that we sing your praises. I need to get outside myself to do that. And frankly, I'm pretty consumed with trying to figure out how I fit into the world and your plan. Those things aren't bad but they can, and at times do, get in the way of worship. Free me from thinking so much about myself and my needs. I want to give you my full attention -- and the honor which is due to you. Amen.
*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS
The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul. The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
