Trusting God's kindness

Lord,
THANKS: Your kindness and generosity are the most valuable of assets. Knowing that I can turn to you for whatever I need gives me great joy.
REGRETS: Of course, I don't always turn directly to you when the need arises. My ego is too big for that. And I only end up hurting myself.
INTERCESSION: Show me how to ask appropriately and in a timely manner. Help me to trust your kindness above everything else.
PURPOSE: I'm going to find my joy not in my personal successes but in the generosity of Christ Jesus -- whom I trust more than anyone or anything -- including myself.
Amen.

DAILY TEXTS
The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul. The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
