Recruitment
This is what the Lord God says: I, myself, will search for my sheep and take care of them. ~ Ezekiel 34:11 (NCV)
As Jesus passed alongside the Galilee Sea, he saw two brothers, Simon and Andrew, throwing fishing nets into the sea, for they were fishermen. “Come, follow me,” he said... ~ Mark 1:16-17 (CEB)
Lord, I'm so glad that you don't spend all your time hanging out in heaven. But you go out looking for people who need you. You are actively recruiting people like me. And I want to leave my uneventful life behind to follow you. I want to be a part of your recruitment team so that everyone will be able to experience your love and care. Amen.
*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS
The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2011 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul. The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
