God answers

Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. KEY IDEA:
God graciously answers even when we don't know how or what to ask.
PRAYER:
Lord, thank you for hearing us, even when we don't have the ideas or words to say. You know our hearts and your Spirit intercedes on our behalf. Help me to trust you when I feel discouraged -- trust that you know and understand -- even better than I. Amen.

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul. The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
