Protector
The Lord has promised that he himself will be a wall of fire around the city to protect it and that he will live there in all his glory. ~ Zechariah 2:5 (GNT)
...I will build my church, and not even death will ever be able to overcome it. ~ Matthew 16:18 (GNT)
KEY IDEA:
The Lord protects his assets.
PRAYER:
Lord, thank you for being the protector. But I'm overwhelmed by fear a lot. So many bad things happen and I'm prone to panic. Reassure me of the reliability of the protective wall that you put around your people.
I need to trust you even more. Amen.
*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS
The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul. The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
