Waiting patiently

The 4th Sunday after Epiphany

Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord. ~ Psalm 27:14 (NLT)

You remember how patient Job was and how the Lord finally helped him. The Lord did this because he is so merciful and kind. ~ James 5:11b (CEV)
KEY IDEA:

It's worth waiting patiently for the Lord will deliever.
PRAYER:
Mercifcul and kind God, for centuries your people waited for the Messiah who would break the back of death as he started the resurrection movement. Thank you for sending him at just the right time. There are lots of things I'm waiting for. I am not always so patient or brave in my waiting. I am easily discouraged. Help me to see Jesus as my not only the hope of the world but also my hope -- the one who will deliver -- the one who cause everything I am going through to make sense. I am going to wait patiently for you. Amen.

*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
