God's staying power
You have been my God from the moment I was born. ~ Psalm 22:10b (NLT)
Paul writes: And so I am sure that God, who began this good work in you, will carry it on until it is finished on the Day of Christ Jesus. ~ Philippians 1:6 (GNT)
KEY IDEA:
God is committed to us for life so it is a good idea to stay committed to him and his way of doing things for as long as we are alive.
PRAYER:
Lord, when you are committed to people, you are really committed. Forgive me for believing the lie that I tell myself -- that it's all up to me. I need constant reminding that you are present and at work in my life -- that you have given me a mission to carry out and that you are going to enable me to do so. I'm going to trust you even more. Amen.
*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS
The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul. The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
