Christ frees

They will not defile themselves with disgusting idols anymore or corrupt themselves with sin. I will free them from all the ways in which they sin and betray me. I will purify them; they will be my people, and I will be their God. ~ Ezekiel 37:23 (GNT)

Christ loves us, and by his blood he set us free from our sins. He lets us rule as kings and serve God his Father as priests. To him be glory and power forever and ever! Amen. ~ Revelation 1:5-6 (CEV)

KEY IDEAS:
Christ sets us free.
PRAYER:
Glorious God, you have freed me through the blood of your Son. Thank you for inviting me into your unending kingdom. Forgive me for the times I refuse that invitation, chasing after truth where it is not to be found. Cleanse me again today. Let the waters in which I was baptized wash away falsehood, until only Jesus remains. Amen. (Daily Texts, Mount Carmel Ministries edition)

*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2011 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
