An inviting future

Just as water fills the sea, the land will be filled with people who know and honor the Lord. ~ Isaiah 11:9b (CEV)

God himself was pleased to live fully in his Son. And God was pleased for him to make peace by sacrificing his blood on the cross, so that all beings in heaven and on earth would be brought back to God. ~ Colossians 1:19-20 (CEV)

KEY IDEA:
The future God is making looks inviting.
PRAYER:
God, you are busy remaking creation -- restoring peace, reconciling humanity to yourself... It all looks bright and wonderful. Help me to live in light of the future and to not get so discouraged by the problems of the present. When I let things get to me I'm not trusting you. But I am going to look at things in light of your promised future. Amen.

*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2011 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
