The guide

Look at the proud! They trust in themselves, and their lives are crooked. But the righteous will live by their faithfulness to God. ~ Habakkuk 2:4 (NLT)

Put on my yoke, and learn from me. I’m gentle and humble. And you will find rest for yourselves. ~ Matthew 11:29 (CEV)

KEY THOUGHT:
Allow Jesus to guide your life and you'll end up in a restful place.
PRAYER:
Dear Jesus, thank you for offering your "yoke" to direct my life. I want to move in sync with you and your direction but I am easily distracted by all the other people and things which tug at me to follow their instructions. Teach me how to tune out those distractions so that I can faithfully focus on the direction you are giving to me. I'm going to allow you to guide me. Amen.

*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
